Whether you're going by cover or cover blurb, I can just about guarantee Corporate Conditioning is not what you're expecting - it's so much more. Pearl O'Leslie has conditioned a unique blend of science fiction, fetish erotica, and emotional romance, accenting it with some high-intensity action to bring it all together.

Eudoxia Dollar (I love that name!) is a professional interrogator in a future where the abduction and ransoming of employees is just a price of doing business, and where standards are in place for everything from programmed safeguards to negotiations to aftercare. It's a dangerous business, and the consequences of being mentally and emotionally broken for your secrets can be long-lasting, but there's no malice behind it. In fact, for Eudoxia, it's almost an intimate act, one she takes pride in doing with care and attention to detail.

For all the fetish elements - bondage, sensory deprivation, orgasm control, and more - it's the affectionate bond between Eudoxia and Paul that makes this story so wonderful. Considering he's contained and controlled for most of the story, that bond has to be expressed non-verbally, and Pearl O'Leslie makes that work in ways I hadn't anticipated. I won't say much more, because you really do need to share Paul's experience to appreciate the intricacies of Corporate Conditioning, but the aftercare scenes what kicked this up a notch for me, and the teasing epilogue is just perfect.
