Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books we are adding to our shelves, whether they be physical or digital. This includes physical books bought, digital books downloaded, and those titles received for review.

New Acquisitions: Paperback Treasures
Not that I'm ever happy to see as used bookstore close (we've lost 3 locally since Covid), but I was quite happy with my $10 haul ...
The first 5 Alien Nation TV tie-in books (with authors like Judith Reeves-Stevens, K.W. Jeter, and Peter David) were a nice find. I loved the show back in the 90s, but somehow never picked up the books.
The Moreau Factor by Jack L. Chalker, a chilling novel of genetic engineering gone monstrously wrong, is one I've been meaning to pick up forever, and as a hardcore Buffy fan, The Warslayer, being the incredibly true adventures of Vixen the Slayer, by Rosemary Edghill was too good to pass up.
Dark Water's Embrace, a gender-bending work of sci-fi by Stephen Leigh, turned out to be a duplicate but better safe than sorry, while The Buried Pyramid by Jane Lindskold, which sees rival archaeologist teams searching for the legendary tomb of the pharaoh Neferankhotep, was one I was sure I already had but didn't, so safe pays off!
Brothers in Arms, A Civil Campaign, and Mirror Dance are 3 of the last 4 books I've been looking for in the Vorkosigan Saga by Lois McMaster Bujold, so major score there, and To Demons Bound & A Yoke of Magic are the first 2 Swords of Raemllyn books by Robert E. Vardeman, another awesome and unexpected score.
Finally, The Mirador is the third book in the Doctrine of Labyrinths series by Sarah Monette, not the paperback copy I've been looking for, but it'll do for now.
I requested Curfew but haven't been approved yet. Fingers crossed! And I'm very tempted by Last Exit. And wow that paperback haul!😍 Enjoy!
