Stacking The Shelves and Mailbox Monday are a pair of weekly memes that are about sharing the books that came your way over the past week, and which you've added to your shelves - whether they be physical or virtual, borrowed or bought, or for pleasure or review.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is another weekly meme, this time focused on what books are spending the most time in your hands and in your head, as opposed to what's been added to your shelf.

Empire Ascendant by Kameron Hurley is proving to be an absolutely perfect follow-up to the first book in the saga . . . which is precisely the same kind of outcome I'm hoping for with Owl and the City of Angels by Kristi Charish!

What's topping your shelves this week?

  1. I've certainly heard of most of the authors mentioned but I haven't read any of the books. I hope you enjoy your reads!

  2. EMPIRE ASCENDANT truly looks like all kinds of imperial!

  3. Really looking forward to Owl and the City of Angels! I had so much fun with the first book. Wow, Cry to Heaven, that's an oldie! I have it in first printing hardcover, purchased way back when it came out. Very cool!

    1. City of Angels has a kick-ass, Indiana Jones worth opening and then steamrolls from there. Cry To Heaven is one I passed by in my youth (no vampires) but I'm intrigued by the subject.

  4. What a great week for reading sequels! I am also hoping to dive into Owl and the City of Angels soon - it made it into my StS post for getting sent a widget this week :)

    1. The second Owl is even better than the first so far!

  5. Kinda curious about the Owl and the City of Angels. Hope it's a good one. Happy reading.

  6. I need to get Empire Ascendant! I'm kicking myself 'cause I saw it in a store and didn't grab it right away...

  7. I'm not familiar with the books that you got this week, but I hope you enjoy them!

  9. Wow, lots of captivating books! Enjoy....I do love a good mystery, so they all look promising.
