E is for Exploration!
Who hasn’t looked up at the nighttime sky and wondered–what’s out there?
Humans are natural explorers. We want to know what’s beyond our world, beyond what we know. We’ve sent men to the moon and satellites into space. The first man-made object to venture into space was a German V-2 rocket in 1942. We sent people to live among the stars on the International Space Station. And now we have NASA’s New Horizon spacecraft approaching Pluto. We keep pushing farther.
In Dragon of the Stars, Aden Pendar and his crew are exploring an uninhabited portion of space. They are searching for the Dragon, a legendary ship that could save their people. The journey is half the adventure and they have dangers to avoid.
I also wanted to explore a unique situation with this story. Pendar encounters a circumstance that is outside of our human understanding. I relied on the five senses to understand what it would be like and bring the experience to life.
The fans aren’t left out of the exploration either! The website What Are the Kargrandes (http://whatarethekargrandes.com/) features clues, all leading up to the release date.
And now, I invite readers to explore Aden’s world. Will he find the Dragon? What are the Kargrandes? Find out April 7!
